The first computers
The first computers were enormous. They occupied a whole room. The computers only calculated math using axles (ejes) and gears (engranajes). They did math that was too complicated to do by any other method. In both world wars they used the computers to calculate where torpedos were going to explode.
During the second world war (1939-1945) a group of scientists invented the first digital computer in Bletchley Park in England, and it was completely automatic: The Colossus.
Later, a lot of complicated evolution happened with computers, and each time they were smaller, faster and they could do more math.
Now, we are going to go talk about computers as we know them, with a screen and a keyboard. These computers were invented in 1977 and they started to sell them.
Early computers you could at least program and use to play some video games. You could do word processing with them, but they could not do much else.
Later the personal computers were invented. With these machines you can do almost anything you want. You can talk from anywhere you want with another person that is in the other side of the world, you can work, you can play, you can access the Internet...
Later you could even get these things in your mobile phone. It's awasome right?
